Bro is a very popular plucking and flipping chordophone of E-de ethnic group. Bro is made from a long bamboo tube of 109 cm length and 3 cm diameter. At the end of the tube, there fixes a small wooden piece that has hole for string hanging. The tube is tightly fastened with a half of an old gourd with a cloth. 5 beeswax frets are fixed and 8 cm distant from each other.

At one end of the tube, there are 2 tuning pegs, accordingly, there are 2 strings, of which, one is open string and the other is known as a melody string. These two strings are tuned at fifth.

Sounds of Bro are so bass and dim that are suitable with lyrical and confidential melodies. The instrument is exclusively used by men and usually played accompanying singing. When playing, the instrumentalist holds Bro horizontally and plucks the instrument with his right forefinger bound with a small horn plectrum. Bro is not a forbidden instrument but widely played in the villages, and sometimes on the milpas.
