SUMMARY: The author Đặng Hoành Loan, in this article, introduces the term of “Tiếng Mo – The sound of Mo reading” to refer to the Mo music and analyses the musical structure in funeral Mo of the Mường people in Hòa Bình province. On the basis of the author’s careful and detailed observation, “Tiếng Mo - The sound of Mo reading” is always comprised of two verses, namely the verse of xướng literature [reading aloud and trilling] and the verse of reading literature. These two verses must combine with each other to form a complete structure of Tiếng Mo. To prove this theoretical point, the author analyses the structures of Tiếng Mo Ha a za za, Tiếng Mo Hâm Mo, and Tiếng
Mo Ò hoi ơ. These are three key musical forms in the rituals of funeral ceremonies practiced by the Mo sorerers of the Mường people in Hòa Bình province.
