SUMMARY: Based on accounts documenting the presence and musical activities of Vietnamese ethnic groups from the latter half of the twentieth century up to present day, the article highlights ethnic music’s inherent ability to connect people. Although this quality is already utilized, it is still not fully understood. The article affirms the importance of music to Vietnamese culture as a whole, so as to push for the recognition of music of Vietnamese various ethnic groups as a type of cultural resource, which plays a significant role in the development of our nation.
