SUMMARY: Based on her previous essay “Kê Khang - the predecessor of the song Lộng Điệp”, author Phan Thuận Thảo introduces another proposal to amend some unclear and inaccurate points in the lyric of the song “Lộng điệp”, a popular song that is still widely performed over many years. The author hopes these amendments would help the wording and meaning of the song become more “clarified”, and easier to understand for the audience of a performance. Through this writing, the author also wishes to inform readers of a historical period when Sino-Vietnamese was the lingua franca in the history and development of Huế singing.
