SUMMARY: Loving the monochord’s sound for many years, the researcher provided explanation to confirm the achievement of the electric monochord. At first, the monochord was played to accompany singing only, then the artists improved it as a musical instrument for solo many decades ago. In addition to the improvement of its form and volume increasing, artists created more techniques in order that the monochord’s timbre was richer and more expressive. Thanks to that, the electric monochord has been closer to the public, easier to be performed in traditional ensembles, and can be played with more contemporary works.
